Can You Have Too Many Pillows?
I think it’s safe to say most everyone has a pillow on their bed per person. We speak to quite a few folks who love pillows and can’t have enough. I myself have three pillows at night just for myself - two for my head/neck and one for cuddling. Our customers always seem interested in what size they should be - which I think is more of a choice dictated by the sheet sets they have at home. We get a ton of hotel sleepers who find our name on the pillows label and literally want to buy the exact pillow they enjoyed at a property for home - even down to it’s size. Most of the time we have the same pillow available in three or four sizes - but they seem to think they have to have the exact size pillow
So - for what it is worth we would just like to let everyone know that we usually recommend buying a pillow size to match your current sheet set pillowcases. We do however sell ala carte pillowcases just in case you want to get a pillow in a size not contained in your sheet set choices (for example you have a king size sheet set at home, but want the jumbo size pillow you enjoyed at a hotel, etc).

Bedding As A Gift?
Everyone loves getting a gift - there is no doubt about that. But what if the person your buying for is the ‘has everything type’ - what else can you get them? Here are some tips on buying bedding as a gift - whether it is for a wedding, birthday, baby shower or just because.
The easiest item to get someone is a throw - everyone needs a throw for their couch/chair/bed/office, etc. Throws are usually pretty easy to buy because you don’t have to worry about the size - most are between 50 x 60 inches or 50 x 70 inches. A down throw makes a great choice because it can keep someone cozy in all settings. Most throws range in price from $20 to $100 for luxury throws.
Another great, but unique idea is to give a pillow. Doesn’t everyone have neck pain? Who brags about great sleep? The key here is to know how they sleep - side, back or stomach - so this might be a good one for the ’sleeping partner’ to buy. People are really funny about their pillow - so check out our pillow buying guide for advice. A pillow can range in price from $20 to $75 for most good quality, medium density down or feather pillows.
Some unique gift ideas can include gifts for dog lovers, or baby blankets for newborns.

Standard/Queen/King Vs. Jumbo/King Pillow Sizes
Not long ago most stores carried pillows in three sizes:
- Standard - 20 x 26
- Queen - 20 x 30
- King - 20 x 36
Then the stores started to carry less sizes basically so they had less money tied up in three sku’s. Some stores took a different stance and offered previous program’s in more densities - soft, medium and firm. Now most stores carry pillows in two sizes:
- Jumbo - 20 x 28
- King - 20 x 36
Frequently I’ll get a call or email from a customer who wants to buy an item on the website - but has pillow cases that might not fit. For reference most duvets and sheet sets are now designed with jumbo or king pillows in mind - so if you have a standard or jumbo that will work great. I have seen less sheets and duvets that come with queen sizes - so for the most part a jumbo pillow will fit the bill. And of course king is always king.

Window Dressing
Today I started tackling the window display at our store in Kenwood. It is long overdue for a fresh makeover and I think our new look will look sharp. Were trying to hit home the message of ‘Direct From The Manufacturer’ by showcasing a display with some of the equipment used in our production (A Gooseneck machine - which ironically has a curved or gooseneck looking tube where the down is blown into the fabric shell). Were going for a spicy pumpkin/nutmeg color theme with pops of cherry red and stencil white lettering. By the way it is really hard to find stencil variety at LOWE’s today
Were also going to be setting up a mock bed scene to show the products post production - it will be a fun visual and something to hit home the manufacturer direct down bedding we make in sunny Mason, OH.
I hope to have the window display finished by this weekend and will take some photos and post them here for everyone to see.
